Registering a Bluetooth deviceYou can register your Bluetooth device in this unit.1 Start registering a unit by operating theBluetooth device.Operate the Bluetooth device to request this unitfor connection.The name of this unit (“KDC-####”) is displayed onthe Bluetooth device.“Paring Press the volume knob” appears.2 Press [Control] knob.Pairing starts. When pairing is completed, “PairingSuccess” appears.Some Bluetooth device requests you to enter a PINcode. The PIN code is set to “0000” as default.Bluetooth module that can be used with this unit• For details on the Bluetooth cell phone with the hands-freefunction, see <13-1. About the Bluetooth module> (page62).Registration of IPod touch or iPhone• This unit is compatible with an Apple Auto Pairing function.Connecting the iPod touch or iPhone to this unit with aDock Connector to USB cable will automatically register it asa Bluetooth device. If you do not register it, select “OFF” for“Auto Pairing” according to <16-6. Bluetooth detail setting>(page 77).When registration is impossible• If there are 5 Bluetooth devices registered, you cannotregister a new Bluetooth device.• When any error code is displayed while the pairing is inprogress, refer to <18-3. Error messages> (page 81).When SMS is received• When the connected Bluetooth device receives SMS, “SMSReceived” appears on this unit.13-3.
