10 | Quick Start Guide2WARNINGIf you connect the ignition wire (red) andthe battery wire (yellow) to the car chassis(ground), you may cause a short circuit,that in turn may start a fire. Always connectthose wires to the power source runningthrough the fuse box.2t Mounting and wiring this productrequires skills and experience. For safety’ssake, leave the mounting and wiring workto professionals.t Make sure to ground the unit to anegative 12V DC power supply.t Do not install the unit in a spot exposedto direct sunlight or excessive heat orhumidity. Also avoid places with toomuch dust or the possibility of watersplashing.t Do not use your own screws. Use onlythe supplied screws. Using wrong screws,could damage the unit.t If the power is not turned ON (“Protect”is displayed), the speaker wire may havea short-circuit or touched the chassis ofthe vehicle and the protection functionmay have been activated. Therefore, thespeaker wire should be checked.t If your car’s ignition key switch doesnot have an ACC position, connect theignition wires to a power source that canbe turned on and off with the ignitionkey. If you connect the ignition wires toa constant-voltage power source, as withbattery wires, the battery may die.t If the console has a lid, make sure toinstall the unit so that the faceplate willnot hit the lid when it is closed or opened.t If the fuse blows, first make sure the wiresare not touching other parts to cause ashort circuit, and then replace the old fusewith one with a new the same rating.t Insulate unconnected wires with vinylBefore InstallationAccessoriesInstallation Procedure1.....12.....23.....44.....453 m (9.5 ft) .....11. To prevent a short circuit, remove the keyfrom the ignition and disconnect the -battery.2. Make the proper input and output wireconnections for each unit.3. Connect the speaker wires of the wiringharness.4. Connect the wiring harness wires in thefollowing order: ground, battery, ignition.5. Connect the wiring harness connector tothe unit.6. Install the unit in your car.7. Reconnect the - battery.8. Press the reset button.
