When the signal istemporarily weaker than the S-meter Squelchthreshold level, the squelch does not mute the signalfor a short period of time. Selecting any of the followingitems from the Menu causes “ ” to appear onthe display.• Off (OFF):The default frequency response for SSB, FM, andAM.• High boost (H BOOST):Emphasizes higher audio frequencies; effective fora bassy voice.• Formant pass (F PASS):Improves clarity by suppressing audio frequenciesoutside the normal voice frequency range.• Bass boost (B BOOST):Emphasizes lower audio frequencies; effective fora voice with more high frequency components.• Conventional (CONVEN):Emphasizes by 3 dB frequencies at 600 Hz andhigher.• User (USER):Reserved for the ARCP software.
