If setup is made on Remote Control unit, it is not nec-essary to repeat any setup on the receiver side.Therefore, it is recommended to perform setup on RemoteControl unit. This chapter describes the setup on the re-ceiver only as an alternative method in case the setup is notmade on Remote Control unit.Do not operate Remote Control unit during the receiversetup.Preparation for setupMost of the receiver control keys are accommodated insidethe panel door. Make the following preparation for setupon the receiver.1. Plug the power cord into a household power outlet.2. (VR-4090/VR-4080)Press the REMOTE POWER key to turn the receiver ON.(KRF-V7773D)Press the POWER switch to supply the main power. Thereceiver now enters the STANDBY mode (in which re-mote control is available). Then press the ON/STANDBYkey to turn the receiver ON.4. Open the panel door by pushing its lower part.Panel doorSpeaker setup1. Selecting the speakersSelecting the SUBWOOFER:1 Press the SET UP key inside the panel door to dis-play “SUBWOOFER OFF (or ON)”.2 Press the MULTI CONTROL (fi/%) key to select“ON” (when a subwoofer is used) or “OFF” (whennot).Selecting the FRONT speakers:3 Press the SET UP key to display “FRONT LARGE (orNORMAL)”.4 Press the MULTI CONTROL (fi/%) key to select“FRONT LARGE” (large-sized speakers) or “NOR-MAL” (normal-sized speakers).If the SUBWOOFER is set to “OFF”, the FRONTspeakers are set automatically to “LARGE” and theCENTER speaker selection display appears automati-cally.Selecting the CENTER speaker:5 Press the SET UP key to display “CENTER NORMAL(or LARGE or OFF)”.6 Press the MULTI CONTROL (fi/%) key to selectCENTER LARGE (large-sized speaker), NORMAL(normal-sized speaker) or OFF (no center speaker).If the FRONT is set to “NORMAL”, the CENTERspeaker can be set to only either “NORMAL” or“OFF”.Selecting the SURROUND speakers:7 Press the SET UP key to display “SURROUNDLARGE (or NORMAL or OFF)”.8 Press the MULTI CONTROL (fi/%) key to select“SURROUND LARGE” (large-sized speakers), “NOR-MAL” (normal-sized speakers) or “OFF” (no sur-round speaker).When the FRONT is set to “NORMAL”, the SUR-ROUND speakers can be set to only either “NOR-MAL” or “OFF”.Selecting SW RE-MIX:9 Press the SET UP key to display “SW-REMIX OFF (orON)”.0 Press the MULTI CONTROL (fi/%) key to select“ON” or “OFF”.- Press the SET UP key to proceed to “Agjusting thespeaker volumes” below.
