35 ENBasic remote control operations for other componentsThe remote control supplied with this receiver is alsocapable of controlling components from a variety ofmanufacturers once you register the appropriate setupcodes into the remote control unit.Low battery warningReplace all two batteries with new ones when you notice a shorteningof the distance from which the remote control will operate. Theremote control is designed to retain setup codes in memory while youchange batteries.Registering setup codes for other componentsSOURCENumericREMOTE MODE1Find the setup code of the component to be registered.• Refer to the setup code lists to find the setup code for thecomponent to be registered. ‡Example: To register a DVD made by KENWOOD, you would enter“805”.Input Component Maker Code Key(DVD) DVD player KENWOOD 805, 808 DVD2Hold down the SOURCE ( ) key and press the Numerickeys to enter the setup code.• Example: Press “805” to register a DVD player made by KENWOOD.• If you push an invalid key, the remote will exit the setup mode.LEAENLCD panelfor VR-6060 only.3Press the REMOTE MODE (CD/DVD, CBL, DSS/SAT, VCR,TV, OTHERS) keys for more than 2 seconds, and check tosee that the component you want to control turns on.LEAENIf the component does not react, and there is more than onesetup code, enter another setup code and try again.• If the component is already on, pressing the REMOTE MODE keysfor more than 2 seconds will turn it off.4Repeat steps 2to 3to register additional componentsuntil all components have been registered.NoteAlthough each setup code is designed to work with a number ofdifferent models, certain codes may not work with some models.(Also, certain codes may only operate some of the functions availableon a given model.)Operating other componentsThis operation lets you operate the registered components.KENWOOD audio components with system control turn on and offautomatically with the receiver via the system control connections.SOURCEINPUT SEL.RECEIVER1Use the Input Selector keys to select the component youdesire.• Pressing the Input selector keys also changes the input selector onthe receiver.• When you operate your registered TV, VCR, DVD player, Cabletuner, or DSS receiver, go to step 2.• When you operate the CD player, Cassette deck, MD player, orTuner with system control connection, go to step 3.2Press the SOURCE ( ) key.3Press the operation keys you desire. q• To return to the receiver operation mode, press the RECEIVER( ) key.The remote control mode returns to the receiver operationmode when you do not operate for more than 15 seconds.NoteBe sure to point the remote control at the remote sensor on thereceiver when you want to operate KENWOOD components con-nected by system control cords.
