Keysight N5290/1A Installation Guide 3-19System InstallationPNA, Controller, and Test Head Module InterconnectionsN5293/5A Modules Front Panel CablingThe front-panel connections between the millimeter head controller and a testhead module are shown in Figure 3-15 on page 20 through Figure 3-18 onpage 21. This cabling is duplicated for each test head module in the system.— “N5292A Option 200 2–Port Cable Connections” on page 3-20— “N5292A Option 400 4–Port Cable Connections” on page 3-21Connections for Each Head1. Connect a set of x4 feet to the bottom of each millimeter module.Choose either:— N5293-40003 feet, bottom, grip or— N5293-40004 feet, bottom, slip2. PNA/PNA-X: Verify you have connected all of the semirigid cables andtorque to 8 in-lbs. Refer to Figure 3-8 on page 13.3. N5292A: Connect the integrated cables from the N9293A or N5295Amillimeter heads.IMPORTANT!In order to maintain compliance to the certificate of calibration it isrecommended that the frequency extenders be connected to thecorresponding test set ports per the Certificate of Calibration provided.IMPORTANT!Before connecting the millimeter-wave modules, verify that the test setand the power supplies (if used) are powered down. The N5292A test set controller’s integrated front panel connectors containoptical sensors to ramp power up or down gradually when the N5293/5Amillimeter modules are connected to prevent damage. Refer to“Troubleshooting the N5293/5A Millimeter Modules” on page 3-26.IMPORTANT! When connecting the N5293/5A modules, it is veryimportant to verify that the module connectors are seated flush and thatthe screws are screwed all the way into the N5292A front test ports. But,be careful to not overtighten.IMPORTANT!In order to maintain compliance to the certificate of calibration it isrecommended that the frequency extenders be connected to thecorresponding test set ports per the Certificate of Calibration provided.
