Thetwo USB ports on the front panel (see graphic below) and four of the USB portson the rear panel are USB Series “A” ports. These are ports to which you canconnect USB mass storage devices and printers. The instrument USB Hostsupport includes the standard Microsoft Windows 7 USB class drivers forhuman interface, mass storage, printing, scanning, and imaging devices. Acomplete up-to-date list of the Windows USB class driver support is availableon the Microsoft website.The square USB port (see graphic below) on the rear panel is a USB Series “B”port and is used for controlling the instrument over USB. Information to helpyou program your instrument is documented in the X-Series Programmer’sGuide. The instrument USB device driver included in the instrument softwaresupports the test and measurement industry standard USBTMC-USB488device class.In addition, the Keysight IO Libraries CD that was included with yourinstrument contains USB Host drivers that allow control of other instrumentsconnected to the USB ports.Keysight Technologies does not support or warrant correct instrumentoperation if additional USB drivers from third parties are installed in theinstrument. It is possible that additional drivers could break the normal USBoperation. If USB operation is broken, recovery would require reinstalling theinstrument application using the hard drive recovery process.USB
