21 ENGLISHSecuring workpieceWARNING: It is extremely important to alwayssecure the workpiece correctly with the propertype of vise or crown molding stoppers. Failure todo so may result in serious personal injury and causedamage to the tool and/or the workpiece.WARNING: After a cutting operation do notraise the blade until it has come to a completestop. The raising of a coasting blade may result inserious personal injury and damage to the workpiece.WARNING: When cutting a workpiece thatis longer than the support base of the saw, thematerial should be supported the entire lengthbeyond the support base and at the same heightto keep the material level. Proper workpiece supportwill help avoid blade pinch and possible kickbackwhich may result in serious personal injury. Do notrely solely on the vertical vise and/or horizontal viseto secure the workpiece. Thin material tends to sag.Support workpiece over its entire length to avoidblade pinch and possible KICKBACK.1 2► 1. Support 2. Turn baseGuide fencesWARNING: Before operating the tool, makesure that the upper fence is secured firmly.WARNING: Before bevel-cutting, make surethat no part of the tool, especially the blade, con-tacts the upper and lower fences when fully low-ering and raising the handle in any position andwhile moving the carriage through its full rangeof travel. If the tool or blade makes contact withthe fence this may result in kickback or unexpectedmovement of the material and serious personal injury.Use upper fences to support the material higher thanthe lower fences. Insert the upper fence into the hole onthe lower fence and tighten the clamping screw.12312344► 1. Upper fence 2. Lower fence 3. Clamping screw4. Adjusting screwNOTICE: The lower fences are fixed to the base inthe factory. Do not remove the lower fences.NOTICE: If the upper fence is still loose after tight-ening the clamping screw, turn the adjusting screw toclose a gap. The adjusting screw is factory adjusted.You don't need to use it unless needed.You can store the upper fences onto the holder whennot in use. Use the clip on the upper fence to hold it onthe holder.1 23► 1. Holder 2. Upper fence 3. ClipVertical viseWARNING: The workpiece must be securedfirmly against the turn base and guide fence withthe vise during all operations. If the workpiece isnot properly secured against the fence the materialmay move during the cutting operation causingpossible damage to the blade, causing the materialto be thrown and loss of control resulting in seriouspersonal injury. |
