Emptythe dust bag of its contents, tapping it lightly so as toremove particles adhering to the insides which mighthamper further collection.1► 1. FastenerSecuring workpieceWARNING: It is extremely important to alwayssecure the workpiece correctly with the propertype of vise. Failure to do so may result in seriouspersonal injury and cause damage to the tool and/orthe workpiece.WARNING: When cutting a workpiece thatis longer than the support base of the saw, sup-port the entire length of the material beyond thesupport base and at the same height to keep thematerial level. Proper workpiece support helps toavoid blade pinch and possible kickback which mayresult in serious personal injury. Do not rely solely onthe vertical vise and/or horizontal vise to secure theworkpiece. Thin material tends to sag. Support work-piece over its entire length to avoid blade pinch andpossible KICKBACK.12► 1. Support 2. Turn baseGuide fencesWARNING: Before operating the tool, makesure that the upper fence is secured firmly.WARNING: Before bevel-cutting, make surethat no part of the tool, especially the blade, con-tacts the upper and lower fences when fully low-ering and raising the handle in any position andwhile moving the carriage through its full rangeof travel. If the tool or blade makes contact withthe fence this may result in kickback or unexpectedmovement of the material and serious personal injury.Use upper fences to support the material higher thanthe lower fences. Loosen the clamping screw so thatthe upper fences slide in and out over the lower fences.Reposition the fences and then tighten the screw.11223344► 1. Upper fence 2. Lower fence 3. Clamping screw4. Adjusting screwNOTICE: The lower fences are fixed to the base inthe factory. Do not remove the lower fences.NOTICE: If the upper fence is still loose after tight-ening the clamping screw, turn the adjusting screw toclose a gap. The adjusting screw is factory adjusted.You don't need to use it unless needed.
