26Cleaning of the lens for the laser lightFor model LS0714FL, LS0714LIf the lens for the laser light becomes dirty, or sawdust adheres to it in such away that the laser line is no longer easily visible, unplug the saw and removeand clean the lens for the laser light carefully with a damp, soft cloth. Do notuse solvents or any petroleum-based cleaners on the lens.To remove the lens for the laser light, remove the saw blade before removingthe lens according to the instructions in the section titled “Installing or remov-ing saw blade”.Loosen but do not remove the screw which secures the lens using a screw-driver.Pull out the lens as shown in the figure.NOTE:• If the lens does not come out, loosen the screw further and pull out thelens again without removing the screw.Replacing carbon brushesRemove and check the carbon brushes regularly. Replace when they weardown to the limit mark. Keep the carbon brushes clean and free to slip in theholders. Both carbon brushes should be replaced at the same time. Use onlyidentical carbon brushes.Use a screwdriver to remove the brush holder caps. Take out the worn carbonbrushes, insert the new ones and secure the brush holder caps.1. Screwdriver2.
