13The horizontal vise can be installed in two positions oneither the left or right side of the base. When performing15° or greater miter cuts, install the horizontal vise onthe side opposite the direction in which the turn base isto be turned.005232By flipping the vise nut to the left, the vise is released, and rapidly moves in and out. To grip the workpiece, push the vise knob forward until the vise plate contactsthe workpiece and flip the vise nut to the right. Then turnthe vise knob clockwise to secure the workpiece. The maximum width of workpiece which can be securedby the horizontal vise is 200 mm.When installing the horizontal vise on the right side ofthe base, also use the sub-fence R to secure theworkpiece more firmly. Refer to the "Sub-fence R"section described on previously for installing thesub-fence R.CAUTION:• Always rotate the vise nut to the right fully whensecuring the workpiece. Failure to do so may resultin insufficient securing of the workpiece. This couldcause the workpiece to be thrown, cause damageto the blade or cause the loss of control, which canresult in PERSONAL INJURY.Holders1001544The holders can be installed on either side as aconvenient means of holding workpieces horizontally.Slip the holder rods into the holes in the base and adjusttheir length according to the workpiece to be held. Thentighten the holders securely with the screws.CAUTION:• Always support long workpieces level with the topsurface of the turn base for accurate cuts and toprevent dangerous loss of control of the tool.Kerf block (optional accessory)1 23004861CAUTION:• When using the kerf block, always cut at the samemiter angle.• When changing the miter angle, use other kerfblocks.• When performing bevel cuts, never use the kerfblock.Failure to do so splits the block, causing a serious injuryto operator. When you use the kerf block at 90° cutting, you cansplinter-free cut in workpiece on the side of the guidefence (height of the workpiece is up to 35 mm). Installthe kerf block onto the guide fence by means of the twoscrews. (Adjust the guide fence and the kerf block sothat they contact their faces. Then tighten the screwssecurely.)005598OPERATIONCAUTION:• Before use, be sure to release the handle from thelowered position by pulling the stopper pin.• Make sure the blade is not contacting theworkpiece, etc. before the switch is turned on.• Do not apply excessive pressure on the handlewhen cutting. Too much force may result inoverload of the motor and/or decreased cuttingefficiency. Push down handle with only as much1. Screw2. Kerf block3. Guide fence1. Holder
