Slide the adjusting screw to the position that thelaser line comes onto the cutting line and then tighten.NOTE: The movable range of laser line is factoryadjusted within 1 mm (0.04") from the side surfaceof blade.Cleaning the laser light lensFor model LS1019L onlyThe laser light becomes hard to see as the lens forthe laser light gets dirty. Clean the lens for laser lightperiodically.► Fig.62: 1. Screw 2. LensUnplug the tool. Loosen the screw and pull out the lens.Clean the lens gently with a damp soft cloth.NOTICE: Do not remove the screw whichsecures the lens. If the lens does not come out,loosen the screw further.NOTICE: Do not use solvents or any petro-leum-based cleaners on the lens.Replacing carbon brushes► Fig.63: 1. Limit markRemove and check the carbon brushes regularly.Replace when they wear down to the limit mark. Keepthe carbon brushes clean and free to slip in the holders.Both carbon brushes should be replaced at the sametime. Use only identical carbon brushes.Use a screwdriver to remove the brush holder caps.Take out the worn carbon brushes, insert the new onesand secure the brush holder caps.► Fig.64: 1. Brush holder capAfter replacing brushes, plug in the tool and break inbrushes by running tool with no load for about 10 min-utes. Then check the tool while running and electricbrake operation when releasing the switch trigger. Ifthe electric brake is not working correctly, have the toolrepaired by a Makita service center.After useAfter use, wipe off chips and dust adhering to the toolwith a cloth or the like. Keep the blade guard cleanaccording to the directions in the previously coveredsection titled "Blade guard".
