7123456001538This tool is provided with the kerf boards in the turn baseto minimize tearing on the exit side of a cut. The kerfboards are factory adjusted so that the saw blade doesnot contact the kerf boards. Before use, adjust the kerfboards as follows:First, unplug the tool. Loosen all the screws (2 each onleft and right) securing the kerf boards. Re-tighten themonly to the extent that the kerf boards can still be easilymoved by hand. Lower the handle fully and push in thestopper pin to lock the handle in the lowered position.Loosen the knob which secures the slide poles. Pull thecarriage toward you fully. Adjust the kerf boards so thatthe kerf boards just contact the sides of the blade teeth.Tighten the front screws (do not tighten firmly). Push thecarriage toward the guide fence fully and adjust the kerfboards so that the kerf boards just contact the sides ofblade teeth. Tighten the rear screws (do not tightenfirmly).After adjusting the kerf boards, release the stopper pinand raise the handle. Then tighten all the screwssecurely.CAUTION:• Before and after changing the bevel angle, alwaysadjust the kerf boards as described above.Maintaining maximum cutting capacityThis tool is factory adjusted to provide the maximumcutting capacity for a 305 mm (12") saw blade.When installing a new blade, always check the lowerlimit position of the blade and if necessary, adjust it asfollows:12004066213001540First, unplug the tool. Push the carriage toward the guidefence fully and lower the handle completely. Use thesocket wrench to turn the adjusting bolt until theperiphery of the blade extends slightly below the topsurface of the turn base at the point where the front faceof the guide fence meets the top surface of the turnbase.With the tool unplugged, rotate the blade by hand whileholding the handle all the way down to be sure that theblade does not contact any part of the lower base.Re-adjust slightly, if necessary.CAUTION:• After installing a new blade, always be sure thatthe blade does not contact any part of the lowerbase when the handle is lowered completely.Always do this with the tool unplugged.Stopper arm12001562The lower limit position of the blade can be easilyadjusted with the stopper arm.
