Programming Your 7890 ScannerGood Read Tone5-12 User’s GuideThe Tone Length parameter permits you to select thelength of the Good Read Tone. The parameter contains10 different lengths ranging from 25 milliseconds to250 milliseconds. Select these times using the Hex 0through Hex 9 tags. The default length is 150milliseconds for the 7890 0100 model and 75milliseconds for the 7890 0200 model. As with tone frequency, most people cannot identifyshort time lengths such as those available for GoodRead Tones. Therefore, you can set the tone length bylistening to it. When you are in the Tone LengthProgramming mode, you can increment the tone lengthby scanning the Hex A tag. Each time you scan theHex A tag, the tone length increments 25 milliseconds. After reaching 250 milliseconds, the procedures startsover, beginning with 25 milliseconds. You normally endthis mode by scanning the END tag. However, you canalso end it by scanning another valid Hex tag.The Good Read Tone Programming mode contains threeshortcuts: A, B, and C. After entering this programmingmode you can go directly to a specific parameter byscanning the appropriate shortcut Hex tag (Hex A,Hex B, or Hex C). This eliminates the need to enter allparameters when only one needs changing.Tone LengthParameter Shortcuts
