2-16 Setting Up The DAUCable DressingAll the interface and power cables connected to the rear of the DAU should bedressed and tie wrapped. Use special care not to kink or sharply bend the FibreChannel cables as they are easily damaged.Route the cables so that they do not contact the door and guide rails on bothsides of the system rack. Also, ensure that there is some slack on all the cablesand especially the power cord to prevent it from being disconnected from theDAU when the unit is pulled forward in the rack.Powering On/OffThis section describes the sequence of steps for powering the disk array unit onor off.! CAUTIONCarelessly turning power on or off may cause some data tobe lost, some software to operate incorrectly, or causedamage to the unit.Turning On AC PowerNote : Before turning on the AC power, check for loosedisk modules by ensuring each module is fully seated intothe disk bay.1. Turn on the disk enclosure connected with the disk array controller (ifapplicable), before turning on the disk array unit.2. Turn on the power switches located on the rear panel of each power supply.3. Confirm that the POWER LED (green) on the front panel of the DAU is on.See Figure 1-7. Also check that the POWER LED located on each powersupply on. See Figure 1-9.4. The disk array unit performs a self-test and initialization immediately afterthe power is turned on. When the self-test and initialization complete andthe disk array unit become ready, the READY LEDs (green) on thecontrollers in the disk array unit stop flashing and enter the on-state.Confirm that the controller READY LEDs are on. See Figure 1-10, J4 forthe location of the controller LEDs.Note : The disk array unit may take as long as fourminutes (at maximum) to start.• Power on the host system. This Manual:http://www.manuallib.com/nec/s1300ug-disk-array-unit-user-guide.html
