Dropping an electronic component cancause serious damage.Installing the Rail Assemblies to the Rack CabinetThe following subsection describes how to install your rack-mount disk array unit into astandard EIA 19-inch rack cabinet.Before you begin select an appropriate location in your rack cabinet for the rack-mountunit. To improve rack stability, mount heavier items towards the bottom of the rackcabinet. If the rack is a stand-alone unit and the rack is more than 75% filled withcomponents, consider installing an optional stabilizer kit.Note: When planning your system configuration for the rackcabinet you should consider the length of the cables thatinterconnect system components.Figure 2-3 shows how rail assemblies should be installed in the rack cabinet.Setting Up the System 2-5
