OverviewThis chapter helps you identify and solve problems that may occur on the disk arrayunit and gives you instructions for replacing defective units.Note: Devices described in this chapter may be installed orremoved by any user. However, the manufacturer does not assumeany liability for damage to these devices or the disk array unit ormalfunctions of the disk array unit resulted from installation by theuser. The manufacturer recommends you ask your sales agent forinstalling or removing these devices.WARNING!If a trouble including smoking and bad smell occurs or a fault such ashalting of two or more cooling fans is found, turn off the power anddisconnect the power plugs from the AC outlets. Then ask your salesagent or maintenance engineer to inspect and repair the disk arrayunit immediately. Using the disk array unit as it is may cause electricshock or fire. Never attempt to repair the disk array unit by yourself.Only a technically qualified person should repair it because itcontains hazardous voltages that can cause personal injury.! CAUTIONIf a fault occurs in the disk array unit, the Service LED on the diskarray unit, the Fault LED on the defected component, or the PowerFault LED lights. If a fault occurs, contact your service representativeor prepare the proper maintenance component and replace thedefected component immediately.Perform the replacement job as quick as possible.
