22 SuperScript 4600N — User’s GuideP RINTING WITH THE 4600NP RINTERAfter you have successfully printed a Startup Page andconnected your printer, you can install a printer driver fromthe SuperScript 4600N CD and begin printing.There are three available setups for SuperScript 4600N Seriesprinter software: Easy/Local, Network Client/Custom, andNetwork Server/Administrator. These were described earlieron page 3 of this user’s guide.note: Instructions for setup and printing from a Mac OSare on page 48. See also the “SuperScript Color LaserNetwork Guide.”To get started, you can use the Easy/Local setup. This setupquickly installs the basic printing tools for your operatingsystem.Local Setup for Windows 95/98 and WindowsNT 4.0Follow these steps.1. Insert the SuperScript 4600N CD into the CD-ROM drive.2. The Installer will launch automatically.3. When prompted, select the Easy/Local installation optionand click Next.4. Continue responding to the selections displayed in thedialog boxes until installation is complete.PostScript Driver Setup for Windows 3.1xFollow these steps to install and use the PostScript printerdriver in Windows 3.1x.1. Boot your system and start Windows.2. Insert the SuperScript 4600N CD into the appropriatedrive (in this example we use drive E:).3. In the Windows Program Manager, select Run from theFile menu. Windows displays the Run dialog box.4. Type E:\WIN31\PS\SETUP.EXE in the Command Linefield.5. Click the OK button. This launches the Installer.6. Respond to the selections displayed in the installationdialog boxes.7. When installation is complete the installer will promptyou to restart Windows. Click the Restart Windowsbutton.8. After Windows restarts the Install PostScript PrinterFrom PPD dialog box will appear.9. Select NEC SuperScript 4600N PS. Click on Install.10. When installation is complete click on Close.Printing from Your ApplicationYou can do this using the print command of the applicationused to create your document.1. Open a document you wish to print.2. Select Print from the File menu. The Print dialog boxappears.3. Select the options you want in the Print dialog box,including the number of copies and page range.4.
