Insert the SuperScript 4600 CD in your drive and double-click the AdobePS Installer icon.2. Follow the installation instructions for the AdobePS laserprinter driver.3. After you have installed the AdobePS software, double-click the SuperScript 4600N Installer icon.4. The installer prompts you to select install preferencesand places the software on your hard drive.Choosing the Printer1. Select Chooser from the Apple menu and make sure theAppleTalk Active button is selected.2. In the Chooser, select the AdobePS printer icon, selectthe AppleTalk zone your printer is on, then select theprinter’s name, SuperScript 4600N, in the printer list.Configuring the PPD1. Click the Setup button in the Chooser.2. In the Setup dialog box, click Auto Setup. The driver willattempt to determine the correct PPD (PostScript PrinterDescription) file to associate with the printer.3. In the Printer Descriptions dialog box, selectSuperScript 4600N and click Select.4. When the Setup dialog box reappears, click theConfigure button.5. In the Configure dialog box, use the pull-down menus tospecify options currently installed in your printer.Renaming Your PrinterRename your printer if you have more than one SuperScript4600 printer on your network. To do this you need a copy ofApple Printer Utility. Obtain this online from AppleComputer at this URL:http://asu.info.apple.comSearch for “Apple Printer Utility,” or you can request theApple LaserWriter 8.5.1 driver installer disk set from Appleby calling 800-SOS-APPL.Then perform a custom install of the Apple Printer Utility.1. Launch the Apple Printer Utility.2. Select the zone in which your SuperScript 4600N printerresides.3. Select the printer you wish to rename and click OpenPrinter.4. Select the Name section of the window by clicking thearrow.5. Type your desired name into the field labeled AppleTalkName.6. Click the Send button.PrintingTo print a document from your Mac OS computer1. Select Print from the File menu.2. A Print dialog box appears that allows you to select thesettings you want. Change the center “Panel” of settingsby selecting categories from the Settings pull-downmenu.3. Select one of the following options from the Destinationpull-down menu.Printer: Your document is printed out on your printer(the default).File: The document can be saved as either a PostScriptJob or an Encapsulated PostScript file.4. When all settings are specified, click the Print button toprint the document.(See the Print dialog on page 49.)Page SetupTo view and change Page Setup settings1. Select Page Setup from the File menu.2. A dialog box appears that allows you to select thesettings you want. Change the center “Panel” of settingsby selecting Page Attributes or PostScript Options fromthe pull-down menu.3. Select options and click OK to return to the document.
