UNIVERGE SV8100 Issue 7.0Code Restriction 2 - 301Code RestrictionDescriptionCode Restriction limits the numbers an extension user may dial. By allowing extensions to place onlycertain types of calls, you can better control long distance costs. The system applies Code Restrictionaccording to the Code Restriction Class. The system allows for up to 15 Code Restriction Classes and416 extensions .Conditions If a Code Restriction Class has the same entries in both a permit and restriction table, thesystem does not restrict the call. Code Call Digit counting may prevent users from taking advantage of long distanceautomated services like ACD and automated Technical Service. Code Restriction is applied when accessing ARS. If Program 21-01-10 is programmed with an entry other than 0, a call cannot have a talkpath unless the user dials at least the number of digits entered in this option when placingan out going call. This means that an entry of 4 or higher in this program causes a problemwhen dialing 911. Since it is only a 3-digit number, the call does not have a talk path, preventing the emergency dispatcher from hearing the caller. This option should be kept atits default setting of 0 to prevent any problem with dialing 911. Common Permit Code TableUse the Common Permit Code Table when you have numbers you want all CodeRestriction Classes to dial. To let all users dial 911, for example, put 911 in the CommonPermit Code Table. The Common Permit Code Table overrides the Restrict Code andCommon Restrict Code Tables. The system provides 10 tables, with 10 entries in eachtable. Each code is four digits maximum, using 0~9, #, and Recall (as a wild card). Common Restrict Code TableThe Common Restrict Code Table lets you globally restrict certain numbers for all CodeRestriction Classes. To prevent all users from dialing directory assistance (411), forexample, put 411 in the Common Restrict Code Table. Be sure you do not allow the codesyou want to restrict in the Permit Code Table or the Common Permit Code Table. Thesystem provides 10 tables, with 10 entries in each table. Each code is four digits maximum, using 0~9, #, and Recall (as a wild card).
