4Important SafeguardsThese safety instructions are to ensure the longlife of your projector and to prevent fire andshock. Please read them carefully and heed allwarnings.Installation1. Place the projector on a flat, level surface ina dry area away from dust and moisture.Tilting the front of the projector up or downfrom level could reduce lamp life.Do not put the projector on its side when thelamp is on.Doing so may cause damage to the projec-tor.2. Do not place the projector in direct sunlight,near heaters or heat radiating appliances.3. Exposure to direct sunlight, smoke or steamcould harm internal components.4. Handle your projector carefully. Dropping orjarring your projector could damage internalcomponents.5. To carry the projector, a minimum of four per-sons are required.Do not hold the lens part and the three an-amorphic lens shafts with your hand. Other-wise the projector may tumble or drop, caus-ing personal injury.6. Do not place heavy objects on top of the pro-jector.7. If you wish to have the projector installed onthe ceiling:a Do not attempt to install the projector your-self.b The projector must be installed by quali-fied technicians in order to ensure properoperation and reduce the risk of bodily in-jury.c In addition, the ceiling must be strongenough to support the projector and theinstallation must be in accordance withany local building codes.d Please consult your dealer for more infor-mation.e Do not attempt to stack projectors on theceiling.Power Supply1. The projector is designed to operate on apower supply of 1.7KW 100-120VAC 50/60Hzfor iS8-2K or of 2.8KW 200-240VAC 50/60Hzfor iS10. Ensure that your power supply fitsthis requirement before attempting to useyour projector.2. Consult your dealer for installing the powercord to the projector. DO NOT install thepower cord by yourself. Doing so may causea fire or electric shock.3. Handle the power cord carefully and avoidexcessive bending. Do not place any heavyobjects on the power cord. A damaged cordcan cause electric shock or fire.4. If the projector will not be used for an ex-tended period of time, disconnect the plugfrom the power outlet.5. Placing the power cord and the signal cableclosely to each other can cause beat noise.If this happens, keep the two separated sothat beat noise is not generated.Beat nise is corruption of the picture oftenseen as a rolling band moving through theimage.6. Do not touch the power plug during a thun-derstorm. Doing so can cause elecrical shockor fire.Cleaning1. Unplug the projector before cleaning.2. Clean the cabinet periodically with a dampcloth. If heavily soiled, use a mild detergent.Never use strong detergents or solvents suchas alcohol or thinner.3. Use a blower or lens paper to clean the lens,and be careful not to scratch or mar the lens.
