24Keeping the appliance cleanTo avoid getting the cooking compartment dirty,■ clean the cooking compartment after each use, as dirt willbake on the next time it is heated up, and this can only beremoved with difficulty■ always remove flecks of limescale, grease, starch andalbumin (e.g. egg white) immediately■ use 3 CircoTherm® whenever possible. This operatingmode creates less dirt■ Use the universal pan to bake very moist cakes■ use suitable ovenware when roasting (e.g. roasting dish) or aroasting sheet (see section: Accessories)Cleaning self-cleaning surfaces in thecooking compartmentThe back panel, side panels and ceiling in the top oven, andthe back panel in the main oven, are coated with self-cleaningenamel. This coating absorbs and dispels splashes frombaking and roasting while the oven is in operation. The higherthe temperature and the longer the oven is in operation, thebetter the result will be.If dirt is still visible after operating the oven several times, cleanthe self-cleaning surfaces with hot soapy water and a soft cloth.Over time, discolourations may occur, which can no longer beremoved. These will not damage the enamel.Caution!Damage to surfaces on self-cleaning areas due to applyingoven cleaner.Never clean the self-cleaning surfaces with ovencleaner.If oven cleaner accidentally gets onto self-cleaning surfaces,remove it immediately with a sponge and plenty of water.Caution!Damage to surfaces on self-cleaning areas due to the use ofabrasive and acidic cleaning agents and aids.Do not use cleaning agents containing abrasive substances oracids.Do not use abrasive cleaning aids such as steel wool orscourers.EasyClean®Your appliance comes with an > EasyClean® function tomake cleaning the cooking compartment easier. Anautomatically controlled vaporisation of soapy water loosensresidues and makes it easier to remove them afterwards.In the case of persistent dirt, you can■ allow the soapy water to penetrate for a while beforeswitching on EasyClean■ rub detergent onto the dirty surfaces before switching on thecleaning aid■ repeat the EasyClean® function once the cookingcompartment has cooledPreparation and switching onEasyClean® only starts when the cooking compartment is cool.: Risk of scalding and surface damage!Never pour water into the cooking compartment when it is hot.Water vapour will be created and the enamel may be damagedbecause of the change in temperature.1. Remove the accessories from the cooking compartment.2. Carefully pour 0.4 litres of water (not distilled water) withsome detergent into the base trough of the cookingcompartment (Fig. A).3. Close the appliance door.4.
