4.2 HORIZONTAL AIR TERMINAL INSTALLATION4.3 EXTENDED HORIZONTAL AND CORNER AIR TERMINAL INSTALLATIONA. Stretch the inner flex pipe to the required lengthtaking into account the additional length needed forthe finished wall surface. Apply a heavy bead of thehigh temperature sealant W573-0007 Mill Pac (notsupplied) to the inner sleeve of the air terminal. Slipthe vent pipe a minimum of 2” (50.8mm) over the innersleeve of the air terminal and secure with 3 #8 screws.`B. Using the outer rigid pipe, slide over the outer combustion airsleeve of the air terminal and secure with 3 #8 screws. Sealusing high temperature sealant W573-0002 (not supplied).C. Insert the vent pipes through the firestop maintaining the required clearance to combustibles. Holding the airterminal (lettering in an upright, readable position), secure to the exterior wall and make weather tight by sealingwith caulking (not supplied).D. From inside the house, using silicone, seal between the ventpipe and the firestop. Then slide the black trim collar over thevent pipe up to the firestop.E. If more vent pipe needs to be used to reach the appliance, couple them together as illustrated. The vent system mustbe supported approximately every 3 feet (0.9m) for bothvertical and horizontal runs. Use noncombustible strappingto maintain the minimum clearance to combustibles. The air terminal mounting plate may be recessed into the exterior wall or siding no greater than the depth of itsreturn flange.23.7CSCREWS#10x2"SEALANTHIGH TEMP2" (50.8mm) OVERLAPCAULKING7" (177.8mm) RIGIDPIPE4" (101.6mm) FLEX PIPE#8 X 1/2”SELF DRILLINGSCREWS & WASHERSINNER COUPLEROUTER COUPLERHI-TEMPSEALANTOUTERRIGID PIPE INNERFLEX PIPEOUTERRIGID PIPEA 45° corner installation can have 0” (0mm) rise between the appliancecombustion air collar and the air terminal. In this case, vent lengths must bekept to a maximum of 24” (609.6mm) . For longer vent lengths, a minimumvertical rise of 24” (609.6mm) is required.A. Follow the instructions for "HORIZONTAL AIR TERMINALINSTALLATION" section.B. Continue adding components alternating inner and outer vent pipes. Ensure thatall inner vent pipes and elbows have sufficient vent spacers attached and eachcomponent is securely fastened to the one prior. Attach the telescopic sleeve to thevent run. Secure and seal. To facilitate completion, attach inner and outer couplers tothe air terminal.C. Install the air terminal. See “HORIZONTAL AIR TERMINAL INSTALLATION” section.
