This task must ONLY be performed in an area knownto be non-hazardous.Fully charge the XPR-5580 before the first use, or if the battery is new or has been unused forseveral months. The maximum charge time required is approximately 6 hours.DAILY USEWARNING: TO PREVENT IGNITION OF A HAZARDOUS ATMOSPHERE, DO NOT ATTEMPT TOCHARGE THIS PRODUCT IN THE HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT. THIS TASK MUST ONLY BEPERFORMED IN AN AREA KNOWN TO BE NON-HAZARDOUS.y Use only the supplied Nightstick charger, 5500-BATT rechargeable battery pack and AC or DCadapter. For best performance, charge the 5580 when the flashlight beam starts to dim.y Connect the AC power adapter to the charger. The LED indicator will not be illuminated atthis point.y With the flashlight facing forward, slide the 5580 into the charger until the contacts snap into place.y The LED indicator changes to constant red indicating the 5580 is properly inserted into the chargerand is in fact charging. The LED indicator remains red until the battery is fully charged. At full charge,the LED indicator turns green.y The total time to full charge the 5580 varies depending on the remaining charge in thebattery pack.y To confirm a full charge, keep the 5580 in the charger and turn it on. The LED indicator willchange to red. Turn off the 5580. If the 5580 is fully charged, the LED indicator will turn green. Ifnot, it remains red until the charge is completed and the LED indicator turns green. The 5580 willnow be fully charged.REPLACING LITHIUM-ION RECHARGEABLE BATTERYWARNING: TO PREVENT IGNITION OF A HAZARDOUS ATMOSPHERE, DO NOT OPENTHE LENS BEZEL IN THE HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT. THIS TASK MUST ONLY BEPERFORMED IN AN AREA KNOWN TO BE NON-HAZARDOUS.WARNING: WHEN EXCHANGING THE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY PACK, USE ONLY THEAPPROVED 5500-BATT RECHARGEABLE BATTERY PACK FROM BAYCO PRODUCTS.WARNING: TO PREVENT IGNITION OF A HAZARDOUS ATMOSPHERE, THERECHARGEABLE BATTERY PACK MUST ONLY BE EXCHANGED IN AN AREA KNOWN TOBE NON-HAZARDOUS.y Carefully loosen the center plug located on the rear side of the light with a flat head screw driveror small coin in a counter-clockwise direction.y Slowly turn the light upside down and carefully shake the light in order to allow the 5500-BATTrechargeable battery pack to slide out of the light paying close attention to the battery pack’sorientation within the housing.y Using only the approved replacement 5500-BATT rechargeable battery pack from Bayco Products,slide the new battery pack into the housing of the light using the directional arrow marked on the sideof the pack to be a guide to proper battery orientation.y Carefully tighten the plug with a flat head screw driver or small coin until it is fully seated.CAUTION: Do NOT overtighten the plug. Doing so may damage the threads and impair the light’sability to properly charge and impact the light’s Intrinsic Safety.OPERATIONThe XPR-5580 has ten lighting modes:y High brightness flashlighty Medium brightness flashlighty Low brightness flashlighty High brightness floodlighty Medium brightness floodlight,y Survival modey Blinking floodlighty Dual-lighty Constant-on rear green lighty Blinking rear facing lightThe XPR-5580 has two body switches providing access to all modes.Constant-on FlashlightPress the left switch forward for high-brightness flashlight. Press the switch forward again to turnthe light off.Select Brightness LevelPress and hold the left switch forward. The flashlight will cycle from high to medium to low modeand then back up again at a rate of approximately one mode per second. The light will continue tocycle up and down through the various modes as long as the left switch is held down. When thedesired brightness level is reached, release the left switch and the light will remain in that brightnessmode. Press the left switch forward again to turn the light off.Rear Facing LightsPress the left switch backward to turn on the rear facing green lights. Press the switchbackward again to turn the lights off. Press and hold the left switch backward to activate the rearfacing beacon lights.Constant-on FloodlightPress the right switch forward for high brightness floodlight. Press the switch forward again toturn the light off.Select Brightness LevelPress and hold the right switch forward. The floodlight will cycle from high to medium to survivalmode and then back up again at a rate of approximately one mode per second. The light will continueto cycle through the modes as long as the right switch is held down. When the desired brightness levelis reached, release the left switch, and the light will remain in that brightness mode. Press the rightswitch forward again to turn the light off.Floodlight BeaconPress the right switch backward for floodlight beacon. Press the switch backward again to turnthe floodlight beacon off.Dual-LightDual-Light allows the user to turn on both the Flashlight (at any brightness level) and theFloodlight (at any brightness level), at the same time. First select the appropriate brightness level ofthe flashlight using the directions above. Next select the appropriate brightness level of the floodlightusing the directions above. Both the Flashlight and the Floodlight are now running. Press and releaseboth the left and right switches forward to turn the lights off.WARRANTYLIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTYBayco Products, Inc. warrants this product to be free from defects in workmanship and materialsfor the original purchaser’s lifetime. The Limited Lifetime Warranty includes the LEDs, housingand lenses. Rechargeable batteries, chargers, switches, electronics and included accessories arewarranted for a period of two years with proof of purchase. Normal wear and failures which arecaused by accidents, misuse, abuse, faulty installation and lightning damage are excluded.We will repair or replace this product should we determine it to be defective.
