137Fine-Tuning Nikon Capture 4 Camera ControlNikon Capture 4 Camera Control PreferencesFine-Tuning Nikon Capture 4 Camera ControlTo view the Preferences (Options) dialog for Nikon Capture 4 Camera Control, select Op-tions… from the Tools menu (Windows) or select Preferences… from the application menu(Mac OS X) or Edit menu (Mac OS 9).Viewing PreferencesTo view settings in any of the three panels, click theappropriate tab.The Preferences dialog contains the following three tabs:Tab DescriptionGeneral Choose how long the exposure meters remain active (D1-series only). 137Temporary Files Specify the location of the folders used for temporary storage. 138Color Management Select the color profiles used by the Nikon Color Management System (CMS). 138After making changes to preferences, click OK to save changes and return to the NikonCapture 4 Camera Control window. Click Cancel to cancel any changes to settings and returnto the Nikon Capture 4 Camera Control window.The General TabThe General tab contains the following item:While Nikon Capture Camera Control isrunning, keep camera awakeChoose how long the exposure meters remainon when the camera is operated on batterypower. This setting only takes effect when thecamera is connected and powered on with NikonCapture 4 Camera Control running, and takesprecedence over the auto meter off option cho-sen using camera Custom Settings. D2-series,D200, D100, D70s, D70, and D50 cameras willstay awake indefinitely, regardless of the settingchosen here.• for 15 minutes (D1-series only): The exposuremeters turn off automatically if no operationsare performed for 15 minutes.• Always: The exposure meters remain on indefinitely.
