E45The Shooting Menu (for A (Auto) Mode)Reference SectionPreset ManualThe preset manual option is effective with mixed lighting or to compensate forlight sources with a strong color cast when the desired effect has not beenachieved with white balance settings like Auto and Incandescent (for example,to make pictures taken under a lamp with a red shade look as though they hadbeen shot under white light). Follow the procedure below to measure the whitebalance value according to the light source when shooting.1 Place a white or gray reference object under the lighting that will beused during shooting.2 Tap the d tab to display the menu options(A11) and tap W.3 Tap b.• The lens extends to the zoom position formeasurement.4 Frame the white or gray reference object inthe measuring window.• To apply the most recently measured value for presetmanual instead of taking a new measurement, tapCancel. The most recently measured value is set forwhite balance, and a new measurement is notperformed.5 Tap Measure to measure a new white balancevalue.• The shutter is released and the new white balance valuefor preset manual is set.
