44Scene Mode (Shooting Suited to Scenes)Shooting FeaturesUse of a tripod is recommended in scene modes indicated with O.d SportsUse this mode when shooting sporting events. The cameracaptures a series of still images that allow you to clearly seedetailed movements in a moving subject.• The camera focuses at the center of the frame. The areafocused can be changed by the touch shutter (A39) ortouch AF/AE (A39).• To take pictures continuously, hold down the shutter-release button. Up to 6 images aretaken at a rate of about 1.3 frames per second (fps) when image mode is set toP 4608×3456.• The camera continuously adjusts focus even when the shutter-release button is notpressed halfway. You may hear the sound of the camera focusing.• Focus, exposure, and hue are fixed at the values determined with the first image in eachseries.• The maximum frame rate with continuous shooting may vary depending upon thecurrent image mode setting, the memory card used, or shooting condition.• Continuous shooting is disabled and only one picture can be taken at a time when theshutter is released using the Touch shutter function (A39).e Night portraitUse this mode for portraits taken at sunset or at night.• The camera detects a human face and focuses on it (A68).• The camera smoothes skin tones by applying the skinsoftening function (A70).• If no faces are detected when the shutter-release button ispressed halfway, the camera focuses on the subject at thecenter of the frame.• Digital zoom is not available.f Party/indoorCaptures the effects of candlelight and other indoorbackground lighting.• The camera focuses at the center of the frame. The areafocused can be changed by the touch shutter (A39) ortouch AF/AE (A39).• Hold the camera steadily when shooting in darksurroundings. Use of a tripod is recommended.O
