66NFocus Point SelectionThe D300 offers a choice of 51focus points that together cover awide area of the frame. The focuspoint can be selected manually,allowing photographs to becomposed with the main subjectpositioned almost anywhere in theframe (single-point and dynamic-area AF), or automatically (auto-area AF; note that manual focuspoint detection is not available when auto-area AF is selected). Toselect the focus point manually:1 Rotate the focus selectorlock to ●.This allows the multi selector tobe used to select the focuspoint.2 Select the focus point.Use the multi selector to selectthe focus point.
