Status LEDThis LED blinks slowly (roughly twice every threeseconds) when the scanner is in operation. Donot turn the scanner off, remove or insert adapt-ers, or eject or insert film until the LED hasstopped blinking and is glowing steadily. If theLED flashes rapidly (about five times a second),a communications error has occurred or there isa problem with the scanner. Turn the scanneroff, wait for at least five seconds, and then turnthe scanner on again.The first time you run Nikon Scan, the statusLED will emit five series of rapid blinks (each ofabout three seconds duration) when you firstinsert a holder with the scanner on or if youstart Nikon Scan for the first time with the scan-ner on and a holder in place. This does notindicate an error. Do not eject the holder. Sliding coverSlide the cover down before inserting a holder.To protect your scanner from dust and otherforeign objects, be sure ALWAYS to close thecover when no holder is in place. AC connectorConnect the female end of the power cablehere. IEEE 1394/Firewire interface connectorConnect the IEEE 1394/Firewire interface cablehere. Holder SlotThis is where you put holders for differenttypes of film. Don’t put anything in this slotexcept an approved Nikon holder.
