Attempting to insert the connector in another orientation could notonly damage the connector, but also damage the scanner or computer or interfere with theircorrect functioning.Connecting the ScannerThe first time the scanner is connected to a Windows computer, the Device Manager will installthe device drivers needed to “register” the scanner with the system (more information ondevice registration is available on page 27 of this manual).
