USER MANUAL33014817(2)2006-06 A 7EngineThe engine, a Diesel Lombardini Focs 1204 (SR 1800C D) ormotor Amre 48V (SR 1800C B) drives the hydraulic systempumps.Front wheels– Pneumatic wheels– Superelastic wheels– They are independent, fastened to the frame by meansof a hub with built-in brake drum. The brakes arehydraulic. The parking brake is mechanical.Rear wheel– Pneumatic wheel– Superelastic wheel– The rear wheel is the driving and steering wheel. Thesteering is operated by a hydraulic cylinder connected tothe power steering. A hydrostatic variable delivery pumpwith servoassisted control supplies a drive hydraulicmotor for forward and reverse gear.DashboardFitted on the upper part of the frame and under the steeringwheel, the dashboard houses the machine warning lights andinstrumentation.Hydraulic systemIn the first circuit a variable delivery pump feeds the drivehydraulic motor (rear wheel). The forward and reverse driveare adjusted by a hydraulic assist operated by a pedal. In thesecond circuit a gear pump feeds the power steering and adistributor which controls: the hopper lifting cylinder, the sidebroom lifting and rotation cylinder, the skirt opening andclosing cylinder; the power steering controls the steeringcylinder. In the third circuit the gear pump feeds a distributor whichcontrols the main broom lifting/lowering and rotation cylinderand the fan hydraulic motor rotation. All circuits are protected by suction filters and safety valves.Electrical systemSR 1800C D: 12 V electrical system supplied by an alternatoroperated by the engine. The circuits are protected by lamellarfuses housed in a relevant fuse box.SR 1800C B: power electrical system supplied by a 48 Vbattery. The accessory electrical system is supplied by a 12V power supply. The circuits are protected by lamellar fuseshoused in a relevant fuse box and by the power supply itself, that cuts the voltage supply in case of short circuit and thenrestarts it at circuit reset.StabilityMachine stability depends on the conditions in which it isused. If the machine is used within the conditions of use specified inthe manual, it is stable. To this end the following tests werecarried out under the same conditions on a prototype identicalto the series model and no stability problems arose. Theconditions were:Flat ground with good surface conditions:– Transfer maximum speed: 14 km/h– Working speed: from 1 to 8 km/h– Bending radius (maximum speed of 14 km/h): 3 m– Bending radius (speed of 5 km/h): 0 mOn sloping ground with good surface conditions andmaximum longitudinal slope of 20%:– Bending radius (maximum speed of 5 km/h): 3 m– Bending radius (speed of 1 km/h): 0 mMaximum crossfall while in transfer: 15%Maximum crossfall at 5 km/h: 20%The tests were carried out with lowered and empty hopper. For different conditions of use, the machine operator shouldbe able to assess the limits of the machine and should, in anycase, follow the indications laid down in the manual.Information on broomsSide brooms (2, Fig. E)– Polypropylene side broom– Polypropylene and steel side broom– Steel side broom– Nylon side broomMain brooms (12, Fig. E)– Natural fibre and polypropylene main broom– Polypropylene main broom– Polypropylene and steel main broom– Nylon main broomBrooms with different bristles can be supplied on request.SAFETY SYSTEMSThe machine is provided with an operator's seat sensor thatstops the machine as soon as the operator leaves the seat.
