No grounding meansis provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor shoulda mean for grounding be added to the appliance. Servic-ing a double-insulated appliance requires extreme careand knowledge of the system, and should be done onlyby qualified service personnel. Replacement parts for adouble-insulated appliance must be identical to the partsthey replace.A double insulated appliance is marked with the words"DOUBLE INSULATION" or "DOUBLE INSULATED."The symbol (square within a square)may also be used on the product.SERVICE INFORMATIONTo obtain consistent performance over the life of yourvacuum, read through these instructions and keep themhandy for future reference. If it should malfunc-tion or breakdown, grounding provides a path of leastresistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electricshock. This appliance is equipped with a cord having anequipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. Theplug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that isproperly installed and grounded in accordance with all lo-cal codes and ordinances.DANGER!Improper connection of an equipment-grounding conduc-tor can result in risk of electric shock. Check with quali-fied electrician or service person if you are in doubt as towhether the outlet is properly grounded, Do not modify theplug provided with the appliance. If it will not fit the outlet,have proper outlet installed by a qualified technician.This appliance is for use on a nominal 120 volt circuit andhas a grounding plug that looks like the plug illustrated inFigure A.A temporary adaptor which looks like the adaptor illus-trated in Figure B may be used to connect this plug to atwo-pole receptacle, as shown, if a properly groundedoutlet is not available. The temporary adaptor should beused only until a properly grounded outlet, Figure A, canbe installed by a qualified electrician. The green coloredrigid ear, lug, or the like extending from the adaptor mustbe connected to a permanent ground such as a properlygrounded outlet box cover. Whenever the adaptor is used,it must be held in place by a metal screw.NOTE!
