Instruction ManualOCM Pro CF®OCM Pro CF - Rev. 07 as of 04.12.2012 Page 15911.4 Verification and Simulation of Input and Output SignalsThe I/O menu (see Chap. 8.5) allows to verify connected sensors as well as tocheck signal inputs and outputs with the aid of several submenus. Various val-ues can be indicated (current input and output values, relay conditions, echoprofiles, single velocities etc.), signals or conditions however (offset, adjustment, simulation or similar) cannot be influenced.Analog output signals, relay conditions as well as the theoretical flow can besimulated in the CAL menu (see Chap. 8.6).11.5 Verification of Flow Velocity MeasurementFlow velocities within the single gates can be viewed in menu I/0-Menu\Sensors\V-Sensor or in Run-menu under >Graphics<. The individually se-lected level positions and the according flow velocity are indicated in the bottomline of the screen (see Chap. 8.2, Fig. 8-6). One more possibility can be found inI/O-Menu\Sensors\V-Sensor (see Chap. 8.5.5, Fig. 8-130). These individual ve-locities can be verified using a portable flowmeter (e.g. PCM Pro, PVM-PD, hy-drometric vane etc.).The sensor is obstructed due to build-up or soiling (àto be removed) as soon asthe flow velocity graph indicates visible disturbances as depicted Chap. 8.2, Fig.8-7. Another reason is that the sensor may have been installed at a hydraulicallyunfavourable position tending to low measurement quality or measurement fail-ure (àcheck installation position of sensor). Please not that without a working level measurement it is not possible to meas-ure flow velocities and hence the flow cannot be computed. If the level measurement should be defect or not connected/inactive, it is possi-ble to verify the function of the flow velocity measurement anyway by temporarilyre-programming the instrument. To do this, set the level sensor to >Fixed value< in the PAR\Level\Sensor typemenu for the verification period and enter a plausible value for the moment ofverification. This value must be higher than the value entered in parameterh_crit.The OCM Pro CF now operates using the fixed value as soon as the program-ming has been confirmed. This makes sure that the flow velocity sensor is capa-ble of positioning its measurement windows in different levels in order to carryout measurement. If after the system run-up period no velocities are detected in none of the meas-urement windows (see I/0-Menu\Sensors\V-Sensor or in RUN-Menu under>Graphics<), the sensor however has been connected correctly and cables, clamps as well as overvoltage protection units have been checked, it may bepossible that the flow velocity sensor is defective. In various countries it may be necessary to carry out regular maintenance withcomparative measurements in particular applications to comply with official reg-ulations. If desired, NIVUS is going to carry out all required verifications, hydrau-lic and technical assessment, calibration, troubleshooting and repairs if an ac-cording maintenance agreement has been contracted. These services will becarried out according to DIN 19559 incl. the agreed proof of the remaining resid-ual error, as well as according to rules in the respective countries.
