A“non-owner” UIM card is one (otherthan the original) that is insertedafter you power off the phone.Set up security level1. At the standby screen, selectMenu > Settings > Securitysettings > Security level, andpress Select.2. Enter the security code and pressOK.3. Scroll to None, Memory, or Phoneand press Select.Off — Owner and Non-ownercards are treated the same.Memory — Non-owner cards canaccess UIM memory. Any changesto the memory setting requiresthe security code. The owner cardhas access to all features, but thesecurity code is required tochange a memory setting.Phone — The security code isrequired upon power-up.4. A message appears in the displayconfirming your selection.Access codesNote: Avoid using codessimilar to emergencynumbers such as 911 toprevent accidental dialling ofthe emergency number.The PIN code and security codecontrol access to features such asthe security level and are suppliedwith the phone. The preset PIN codeis 1234 and preset security code is12345. Once you change the code,keep the new code secret and in asafe place separate from your phone.Note: If you enter the wrongsecurity code five times insuccession, you will not beable to enter a code for fiveminutes, even if you poweroff the phone betweenincorrect entries.Change PIN CodeBefore you can change your PINcode, you’ll need to enable PIN coderequest. See "PIN code" on page 41.1. Press Menu > Settings > Securitysettings > Access codes > ChangePIN code.2. Enter the current PIN code andpress OK.3.
