Touch TonesYour phone is a “Touch Tone” phone, meaning that itcreates certain sounds when you press the keys.These sounds can be used for many automated, over-the-phone services such as checking your bankbalance, using your voice mailbox options, and evenchecking airplane arrival and departure times.Touch Tones are called “DTMF” (Dual ToneMultifrequency) tones in the phone.Sending IndividualTouch TonesPress keys during call.Touch Tones can be used only when a call is active. Youwould use the Individual Touch Tone feature when, forexample, you are prompted to “press 1 and then thestar (*) button”. You would simply press 1 *.Note: Individual Touch Tones can be sent only if Menu 43 is not set to Off. Menu 4 3 is described in this section.Sending Strings ofTouch TonesDuring a call, with thedisplay empty:ÕRecall from memorythe string you want tosendÕleft F (Menu)then UYou can transmit Touch Tones one by one by pressingthe keypad during a call. Additionally, you can store awhole digit sequence in a memory location and send itas Touch Tones. You could use this for frequently-usedstrings of numbers, such as your bank accountnumber.The phone sends (as Touch Tones) the digits that arecurrently on the display.
