Moreinformation is given throughout thisuser guide.The power key (on top of thephone) switches the phone on or offwhen pressed and held. The scrollkeys and browse through thenames and phone numbers stored inthe Phone book. The clear/exit keydeletes characters from thedisplay and exits from differentfunctions.The function of the Nokia Navi™ key( ) depends on the text shownabove it. In this user guide, thesymbol is followed by the relatedguiding text, e.g. (Menu) or(Select). Display and standbymodeThe indicators described below areshown when the phone is ready foruse, with no characters keyed in bythe user. This screen is called ‘standbymode’.1. Indicates in which cellular networkthe phone is being used.2. Shows the signal strength of thecellular network at your currentlocation.3. Shows the battery charge level.4. Shows the current function of theNokia Navi™ key ( ). Inserting a SIM card• Keep all miniature SIM cards outof small children’s reach.• The SIM card and its contacts caneasily be damaged by scratches orbending, so be careful whenhandling, inserting or removingthe card.• Before installing the SIM card,always make sure that the phoneis switched off and then removethe battery.
