[ 56 ]Messages (Menu 1)If you’ve subscribed to a message service, you cansend and receive messages to compatible phones thatare also subscribed to a message service. You can also send and receivepicture messages, multimedia messages, and e-mail if supported by yournetwork. Composed messages can be up to 450 characters in length.Linked messagesYour phone can send and receive long messages (up to 450 characters) insequences. While receiving linked messages, you can start reading thefirst part before the phone has received the entire message.While viewing the message, you may see *some text missing* on thedisplay. This is normal, and the message content will be updated as soonas the missing sequence arrives.If the memory is full, you may have to delete a message from your inboxor outbox before your phone can update the missing text.Before you can send and receive messagesYou’ll need the following to send and receive messages:• A messaging service through your wireless provider• A message center number, which must be saved to your phone(if your wireless provider hasn’t done so already)Message iconsIcons that precede the title of a message indicate the following:The message has not been readThe message has been readA message (which you’ve composed) has not been senti The message is a delivery reportThe message is a MMS (multimedia message)
