To use an IRconnection, the device with whichyou want to establish a connectionmust be IrDA compliant. You cansend or receive data such as businesscards and calendar notes to or froma compatible phone or data device(for example, a computer) via the IRport of your phone.Do not point the IR (infrared) beamat anyone's eye or allow it tointerfere with other IR devices. Thisdevice is a Class 1 Laser product.Note: The phone must beswitched on to use thisfunction. Do not switch onthe phone when the use ofa wireless phone isprohibited or when it maycause interference ordanger.Sending and receiving data via IR• Ensure that the IR ports of thesending and receiving devices arepointing at each other and thatthere are no obstructionsbetween the devices. Thepreferable distance between thetwo devices in an infraredconnection is one metre at most.• To activate the IR port of yourphone to receive data via IR,press Menu and select Infrared.• The user of the sending phoneselects the desired IR function tostart data transfer.If data transfer is not started withintwo minutes after the activation ofthe IR port, the connection iscancelled and has to be startedagain.IR connection indicator• When is shown continuously,the IR connection is activatedand your phone is ready to sendor receive data via its IR port.• When blinks, your phone istrying to connect to the otherdevice or a connection has beenlost.■ Radio(Menu 10)Note: The phone must beswitched on to use thisfunction.
