Using an incompatiblememory card may damage the memory card as well as the device, and datastored on the incompatible card may be corrupted.Format memory cardImportant: All data stored on the memory card will be permanentlydeleted when you format it.You must format a new memory card before you can use it for the first time.• Select Options→ Format mem. card.You will be asked to confirm your request and once you confirm, formatting starts.Backing up and restoring informationTo back up information from your phone’s memory to the memory card, selectOptions→ Backup phone mem..To restore information from the memory card to the phone’s memory, selectOptions→ Restore from card.Note: You can only backup the phone memory and restore it to the samemodel of phone.Memory card passwordTo set a password to lock your memory card against unauthorized use, selectOptions→ Set password.You will be asked to enter and confirm your password. The password can be up toeight characters long.The password is stored in your phone and you don’t have to enter it again while youare using the memory card on the same phone. If you want to use the memory cardon another phone, you will be asked for the password.UNLOCKING A MEMORY CARDIf you insert another password protected memory card in your phone, you will beprompted to enter the password of the card. To unlock the card:• Select Options→ Unlock memory card.Once the password is removed, the memory card is unlocked and can be used onanother phone without a password.Checking memory consumptionYou can check the memory consumption of different data groups and the availablememory for installing new applications or software on your memory card:• Select Options→ Memory details.
