Over infrared connection, you can transfer, forexample, business cards and calendar notes.To activate the infrared port: Press Menu in standby mode, and selectConnectivity and Infrared.Do not point the IR (infrared) beam at anyone's eye or allow it to interfere with other IRdevices. This device is a Class 1 Laser product.Sending and receiving data via infrared• Ensure that the infrared ports of your phone and the other device are pointingat each other and that there are no obstructions between the devices.The preferable distance between the two devices in an infrared connection isone meter at the most.• To receive data, activate the infrared port of your phone by pressing Menu instandby mode and by selecting Connectivity and Infrared. Ask the user of thesending phone to start the data transfer.• To send data from your phone, select the function from which you want tosend data over the infrared connection.For example, to send a calendar note when you are viewing it in the Calendarmenu, press Options and select Send note and Via infrared.If data transfer is not started within two minutes after the activation of theinfrared port, the connection is cancelled and has to be started again.
