For defining a message profile, see “Settings fortext Messages” on page 45.Reading a messageWhen you receive a message, your phone beeps and Message received appears inthe display as well as the unopened letter icon ( ).1 Press Show to read the message, or Exit to move it to your inbox.Note: If the icon is blinking, it indicates that the message memory isfull. Before you can receive new messages, you must delete some of yourold messages.Use the scroll key to view the whole message if necessary. Keep scrolling to viewother information, such as the sender number and time the message was sent.2 Press Back to move the message to the Inbox, or press Options for other choices,such as Reply or Forward.3 If more than one message has been received, select the one that you want toread. An unread text message is indicated by in front of it.Read linked messagesYour phone can receive one long message (up to 612 characters) in sequences. Youcan start reading the first part before the phone has received the entire message.While viewing the message, you may see some text missing on the display.This is normal, and the message content will be updated as soon as the missingsequence arrives.If the memory is full, you may have to delete a message from your inbox or outboxbefore your phone can update the missing text.Replying to a message1 While viewing the message, press Options.You can select an option, for example, to delete, forward, edit, move, andrename the message you are reading.Select Copy to calendar to copy text at the beginning of the message to yourphone’s calendar as a reminder note for the current day.Select Message details to view the sender’s name and phone number, themessage center used, and the date and time of receipt.Select Use detail to extract numbers, e-mail, and website addresses from thecurrent message.When reading a picture message, select Save picture to save the picture inthe Templates folder.
