M e n u f u n c t i o n s225. Menu functionsYour phone offers a wide range of functions that are grouped in menus.Most of the menu functions have a brief help text. To view the help text, scroll tothe desired menu function, and wait for about 15 seconds.You can set the help text on or off using the Help text activation function in thePhone settings menu. See "Phone settings," p. 36.■ Access a menu function1. In the standby mode, select Menu.2. Scroll with the spinner to the desired main menu (for example ,Settings), andselect it.3. If the menu contains submenus, select the one that you want (for example,Call settings).If the selected submenu contains further submenus (for example Automaticredial), repeat this step.4. Select the setting that you want.Select Back to return to the previous menu level, or select Exit or press the endkey to exit the menu.■ MessagingThe message services can only be used if they are supported byyour network or by your service provider (network services).Note: When sending messages, your phone may display the wordsMessage sent. This is an indication that the message has been sent byyour device to the message center number programmed into your device.This is not an indication that the message has been received at theintended destination. For more details about messaging services, checkwith your service provider.Text messages (SMS)Your device supports the sending of text messages beyond the character limit fora single message. Longer messages are sent as a series of two or more messages.Your service provider may charge accordingly. Characters that use accents orother marks, and characters from some language options like Chinese, take upmore space limiting the number of characters that can be sent in a single message.
