Selectone of the following and press Change.Contact card template — The contact card tem-plate defines which fields are included in all newcontact cards you create. You can modify thecontact card template in the same way as de-scribed in "Contact cards: Editing contact cards"Changes made to the template affect all new,but not existing contact cards. You cannot entertext into the template’s fields.Log length — With the Log length settings, youcan define how recent contacts will be listed inthe General and Individual log lists. Select thenew log length and press OK. The possible valuesare: Zero / 10 days / 30 days (default) / 1 Year /User defined: days (0 – 365 days).Contacts directory and the phone interfaceCopying contact information between the inter-faces is only possible via the phone interface (seechapter 14 "Phone interface: Menus - Memoryfunctions (Menu 8)" – except when a new SIMcard is inserted into the communicator and youopen the communicator interface. In that case,you will be prompted to confirm the copying ofthe SIM memory contents into the Contacts di-rectory, as descibed in chapter 2 "Getting start-ed: Keyboard".When the memory contents of a SIM card arecopied to the directory, the Contacts applicationwill create the same number of new contactcards as the number of memory locations in useon the SIM card. The numbers in the SIM cardmemory locations are inserted in the telephonenumber field of the contact card (“Tel”).When contact information is copied from theContacts directory to the SIM card, the contactnames may not fully fit in the SIM card’s memo-ry.Entering contact informationvia the phone interfaceEntering new or editing existing contact namesand phone numbers via the phone interface willcreate a new contact card in the Contacts direc-tory. See chapter 14 "Phone interface: Usingmemory - Storing information via the phone in-terface"Note: When you store or copy phone numbersfrom the phone interface to the Contacts direc-tory, the phone numbers go to the Tel field, notto the Tel(GSM) field.
