14-8 MenusMenusWhen you have reached the correct menu, useor to scroll through the menu options.Recent calls (Menu 01)Within this menu, you can review and erase thephone numbers stored automatically. Note thatthe Received calls and Missed calls functions arenetwork services which work only in networkswhich allow you to view the caller’s phonenumber. These functions are described in chapter4 "Telephone: Making a call"Dialled calls (Menu 01 1), Received calls (Menu01 2), Missed calls (Menu 01 3).Note: The communicator only registers missedcalls when the phone interface is switched onand it is used within the network’s service area.Erase all recent calls (Menu 01 4)Caution: The phone numbers are erased with-out warning. You cannot undo the operation.Messages (Menu 2)The Short Message Service (SMS) function is anetwork service and and may not be supportedby your network. Contact your home service pro-vider for details. The phone interface can be usedfor recording and listening to voice messages invoice mailboxes and for reading received shorttext messages (‘short messages’). Reading shortmessages is, however, more convenient via thelarger display of the communicator interface. Toread or send short messages, use the communi-cator interface’s SMS application (see chapter 6"Short messages") or the Notes application (seechapter 8 "Notes").Listen to voice messages (Menu 2 1)When you enter this function, the communi-cator dials the phone number stored in Menu2 2. If required, key in the access code of themailbox (or answering machine). It is sent asDTMF tones to the receiving end.Set voice mailbox number (Menu 2 2)The phone number that you enter here will bedialled when you select the Listen to voicemessages function in Menu 2 1. A voice mail-box can be a network service or your personalanswering machine. You may enter a new oredit an existing phone number. The numberwill be used until you change the numberagain.Read messages (Menu 2 3)When you receive a short message, the textMESSAGE RECEIVED and the indicatorwill be displayed and a short tone will sound(if the communicator has not been set in si-lent service within Menu 10). A note is alsoshown when you receive faxes or mail. Toread received faxes or mail, you must use therespective applications of the communicatorinterface.To read the message immediately, press Read.To read the message later, press Quit.Press to view the first message. The mes-sages are shown in the order they werereceived.Once you have read the message, you canpress Quit or Option. The options available inthe phone interface are:Read next — shows the next message.Erase — erases the selected message frommemory.Use number — copies the phone numberfrom the message and moves it onto thephone interface display. You can now callthe number or save it.Broadcast messages (Menu 2 4)This network service function allows you toreceive short messages on various topics. Youmay select from pre-defined subjects and addtopics to the selection list. Press Select to ac-cess the following functions:To add a new topic to the list, choose Addtopic and press OK.At the prompt Topic number , key in thenumber (3 digits).
