Tips on creating a GPS connectionIf your device cannot find the satellitesignal, consider the following:• If you are indoors, go outdoors toreceive a better signal.• If you are outdoors, move to a moreopen space.• Ensure that your hand does notcover the GPS antenna of yourdevice.• If the weather conditions are bad,the signal strength may be affected.• Some vehicles have tinted(athermic) windows, which mayblock the satellite signals.Check satellite signal statusTo check how many satellites yourdevice has found, and whether yourdevice is receiving satellite signals, select Menu > Applications >Location > GPS data and Options >Satellite status. If your device has found satellites, a barfor each satellite is displayed in thesatellite information view. The longerthe bar, the stronger the satellite signalis. When your device has receivedenough data from the satellite signal tocalculate the coordinates of yourlocation, the bar colour changes.Initially, your device must receivesignals from at least four satellites to beable to calculate the coordinates of yourlocation. When the initial calculationhas been made, it may be possible tocontinue calculating the coordinates ofyour location with three satellites. However, the accuracy is generallybetter when more satellites are found.Position requestsYou may receive a request from anetwork service to receive your positioninformation.
