When you activate the remote SIM access profile, you can useapplications on your device that do not need network or SIMservices.To make connections between your device and the car kitwithout separate acceptance or authorisation, select Menu >Connectivity > Bluetooth, and open the paired devices tab.Scroll to the car kit, press the scroll key, and enter theBluetooth passcode. When the device asks to make theconnection automatic, select Yes. If you select No, connectionrequests from this car kit must be accepted separately everytime.To end the remote SIM access connection from your device,select Menu > Connectivity > Bluetooth > Remote SIMmode > Off.Wireless LANYour device can detect and connect to a wireless local areanetwork (WLAN). To use WLAN, a network must be availablein the location and your device must be connected to it.WLAN connectionsImportant: Always enable one of the availableencryption methods to increase the security of your wirelessLAN connection. Using encryption reduces the risk ofunauthorised access to your data.To use WLAN, you must create an internet access point in aWLAN. Use the access point for applications that need toconnect to the internet. A WLAN connection is establishedwhen you create a data connection using a WLAN accesspoint. The active WLAN connection is ended when you endthe data connection. You can also end the connectionmanually. See "Connection manager", p. 110.You can use WLAN during a voice call or when packet data isactive. You can only be connected to one WLAN access pointdevice at a time, but several applications can use the sameinternet access point.When the device is in the Offline profile, you can still useWLAN, if available. Remember to comply with any applicablesafety requirements when establishing and using a WLANconnection.If you move the device to another location within the WLANand out of range of a WLAN access point, the roamingfunctionality can automatically connect your device toanother access point that belongs to the same WLAN. As longas you remain within range of access points that belong tothe same network, your device can stay connected to thenetwork.Tip: To check the unique media access control (MAC)address that identifies your device, for example toconfigure the MAC address of your device to a WLANrouter, enter *#62209526# on the device keypad.
