It isdesigned and manufactured not to exceed the limits forexposure to radio frequency (RF) recommended byinternational guidelines (ICNIRP). These limits are part ofcomprehensive guidelines and establish permitted levels of RFenergy for the general population. The guidelines weredeveloped by independent scientific organisations throughperiodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studies. Theguidelines include a substantial safety margin designed toassure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health.The exposure standard for mobile devices employs a unit ofmeasurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR.The SAR limit stated in the international guidelines is 2.0watts/kilogram (W/kg)*. Tests for SAR are conducted usingstandard operating positions with the device transmitting atits highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands.Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified powerlevel, the actual SAR of the device while operating can be wellbelow the maximum value. This is because the device isdesigned to operate at multiple power levels so as to use onlythe power required to reach the network. In general, the closeryou are to a base station, the lower the power output of thedevice.The highest SAR value for this device when tested for use atthe ear is 0.95 W/kg.SAR values may vary depending on national reporting andtesting requirements and the network band. Use of deviceaccessories and enhancements may result in different SARvalues.
