See "Active toolbar", p. 47.Take picturesBefore taking a picture, note the following:● You cannot take pictures until the xenon flash isfully charged, unless you have set the flash toOff. When the flash is charging, blinks on thedisplay. Charging the xenon flash usually takes acouple of seconds.● To make lighting and colour adjustments, use thescroll key to scroll through the active toolbar. See"Setup settings—adjust colour andlighting", p. 42. Saving the captured image maytake longer if you change the zoom, lighting, orcolour settings.● To free memory for new pictures, transfer files toa compatible PC using a compatible USB datacable, for example, and delete the files from yourdevice. The device informs you when thememory is full, and asks whether you want tochange the memory in use.When taking a picture, note the following:● Use both hands to keep the camera still.● The quality of a digitally zoomed picture is lowerthan that of a nonzoomed picture.● The camera goes into the battery saving mode ifthere are no keypresses for a moment. Tocontinue taking pictures, press the capture key.To take a picture, do the following:1. If the camera is in the video mode, select theimage mode from the active toolbar.2. To lock the focus on anobject, press thecapture key halfwaydown (main cameraonly, not available inlandscape and sportsscenes). The greenlocked focus indicatorappears on the display. If the focus was notlocked, the red focus indicator appears. Releasethe capture key, and press it halfway downagain. You can, however, take the picturewithout locking the focus.3. To take a picture, press the capture key. Do notmove the device before the image is saved.To zoom in or out when taking a picture, use thezoom key in your device.35 Camera
