Text entryYou can use two methods forentering text and numbers:• Standard mode is the only way toenter text into the contacts list orrename caller groups.• Dictionary mode is a quick andeasy method for writingmessages, creating a calendarnote, or making a to-do list.■ Standard modeText (Abc)• Press a key once to insert the firstletter on the key, twice for thesecond letter, etc. If you pausebriefly, the last letter in thedisplay is accepted and yourphone awaits the next entry.• Press the 0 key to enter a space,thereby accepting a completedword.• Press the 1 key to enter a period(.).• Press the * key to display specialcharacters.• Press the * key twice to displaysmiley face characters.• Press and hold the # key to bringup the Editor settings (Numbermode, Dictionary on/Dictionaryoff, Writing language).Numbers (123)To switch to 123 mode from Abcmode, press the # key at anymessage entry screen until the iconin the upper left corner of the displayswitches from Abc to 123 (or viceversa).
