Termocamino 650 - 800Instruction Manual – Rev.07 – EN 3515. MAINTENANCE AND CAREHave a chimneysweep check the correct installation, connection to the chimney and aeration.IMPORTANT: only spare parts which have expressly authorised and offered by La Nordica can be used. Incase of need, please contact your specialised dealer.THE APPLIANCE CANNOT BE MODIFIED!15.1. FLUE CLEANINGThe correct ignition procedure, the use of suitable quantities and types of fuel, the correct positioning of airregister, sufficient chimney draught and the presence of combustive air are essential for optimum applianceoperation.During normal use, the chimney is not subject to being damaged in any way.The appliance should be thoroughly cleaned at least once a year or whenever necessary. An excessivedeposit of soot (creosote) can cause problems in fume exhaust and fire in the flue itself. Cleaning mustonly be carried out when the appliance is cold. This operation must be performed by a chimney sweep, who can make an inspection at the same time.Excessive incrustation deposits on the inner walls of the hearth considerably reduce the efficiency of heatexchange; therefore, remove these deposits using a steel brush whenever necessary. Never usecorrosive substances that can damage the thermo-fireplace and the boiler.During cleaning, remove the ash drawer, the grille, and the smoke deflectors from the appliance so that thesoot will fall out. The deflectors are easy to remove from their seats as they are not secured with screws. When you have finished cleaning, position them back in their seats.ATTENTION: The absence of the deflector causes a strong depression, leading to excessively fastcombustion and excessive wood consumption, with consequent overheating of the appliance.15.2. GLASS CLEANINGThrough a specific secondary air inlet, the formation of deposits of dirt on door glass is effectively sloweddown. It cannot though ever be avoided with the use of solid fuels (damp wood in particular) and this is notto be considered as a defect of the appliance. After checking to make sure that the door is completely lowered, use the key provided to unlock and openit. Clean the window and re-close before raising the door.IMPORTANT: The viewing window must only be cleaned when the appliance is cold to prevent itfrom exploding. To clean the glass, use specific products or make a ball of newspaper, dampen it and run it through theashes, and rub the glass.GLASS BREAKAGE: As the windows are made of ceramic glass resistant to heat up to 750°C theyare not subject to thermal shock. The glass can only be broken by mechanical shocks (impact orviolent closure of the door, etc.). Therefore, replacement is not included in the warranty.15.3. CLEANING OUT THE ASHESAll the LA NORDICA appliances have a hearth grille and a drawer for collecting the ashes. We recommend that you empty the ash drawer periodically and do not let it fill completely in order to avoidoverheating the grille. It is advisable to always leave 3-4 cm of ash in the hearth.ATTENTION: The ashes removed from the hearth should be place in a fire-retardant container with sealedlid. The container should be placed on a fireproof floor, far from flammable materials, until the material iscompletely extinguished and cooled.15.4. MAINTENANCE ON THE EXTENDIBLE GUIDESTo ensure that the doors of the single-block units have a silent, reliable, and durable operation, they arefixed onto extendible ball bearing guides. With continuous use of the appliance over time, the lubricant ofthe guides tends to gradually diminish, making them harder to slide and noisier. For this reason, each appliance is supplied with a syringe of high temperature grease so that the user canlubricate the guides when it becomes necessary (excessive noise or friction when sliding). After having raised the door completely, use the syringe provided to apply two beads of grease(corresponding to 0.5 ml on the graduated scale of the syringe) on the inside on the track at the highestpoint possible. Pay attention not to exceed the recommend amount of grease.Repeat this operation on the other track, and raise and lower the door several times so that the grease isdistributed on all the ball bearings.
